As a biological concept, an animal, or human is one that has completely developed. Adults are social concepts and a legal one in our world. Contrary to the concept of a non-adult or "minor" legally adult has reached the age of majority. They are considered to be an independent, self-sufficient person and accountable. The term "major" can be used to define the person. The age for achieving legally adulthood is 18 although definition may vary by laws, countries as well as the stage of psychological development.

Adulthood refers to the time in the human lifespan in which full physical and intellectual maturation has been achieved. Most people think that adulthood is attained when you are 20 or more. In general, middle age starts at 40 or so years of age, and is then it will be about 60. There are three main levels of adulthood: beginning in early the age of adulthood (18 up to the mid-30s) mid-adulthood (mid-30s until mid-60s) and then the final stage of adulthood (mid-60s until end of life). In the early years of adulthood the body is at the fullest physical maturation. Yet, our height and our weight can increase. When we reach early adulthood, our physical abilities are at their highest levels. These include muscle strength as well as reaction speed.
